Wirringa Baiya is a state-wide community legal centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and youth. Our service provides free, confidential legal information, advice and casework on a range of family and civil law matters such as: Domestic violence Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs) Sexual Assault Child Sexual Assault Victims Compensation Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Care & Protection Early Intervention Family Law Complaints against the Police, Correctional Centres, Juvenile Detention Centres and Family and Community Services (previously DOCS) While we usually provide only advice on the following matters, we sometimes provide clients with further assistance on the following types of matters: Centrelink Complaints about Doctors and Nurses Credit & Debt Disputes about children Divorce Employment Housing and Tenancy How to apply for Legal Aid
