On my feet

We’re a not-for-profit that organises walking and running groups to help the homeless and longterm unemployed. The homeless and long term unemployed – like everybody – seek independence, self worth and greater purpose. And they need a hand up, not a hand out. Running has the power to offer these, the power to change everything. It can change individual outlooks through goal setting, commitment, hard work, perseverance and a positive attitude. It can change life outcomes through greater self worth. And it helps create communities with greater purpose. We believe that we are all made to move, that every moment is an opportunity, that negative people’suck, that there is always a choice, that there should be pride in oneself, that everyone deserves a second chance and that a healthy mind is a healthy body. So we ask: What if everyone had a home? We’d develop a stronger sense of community What if everyone had a job? We’d increase self worth as well as improving physical and mental well being Let’s be driven by purpose, grow through meaningful relationships and thrive through our own movement. Let’s move. Let’s walk. Let’s run. Together. ON MY FEET – getting people moving to create a better quality of life. On My Feet is a not for profit that aims to use walking and running to help those experiencing problems with homelessness, to change their outlook so they can make decisions that result in better life outcomes whether it be living circumstances, employment opportunities and or interactions with social and family networks.
